Fantasycon is the British Fantasy Society’s annual convention. it is an essential destination for readers, writers, artists, editors, and publishers of all things Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction.
Every year Fantasycon offers readers and writers the opportunity to come together to discover, learn and discuss fantastic fiction in all its forms. Three days of panels, talks, workshops and socialising. Bringing together the best in writing, publishing and reading.
Fantasycon prides itself on its friendly members. Every year we welcome many first timers. But you are only a first timer once. Come along, meet people and get the opportunity to network in the bar.
If you wish to stay at the Jury’s Inn for the duration of the event (or even days before or after) please book this with the hotel itself, we do have a number of rooms allocated to Fantasycon, so just let them know you are attending the event. We have an allocation of rooms at the fixed rate of £102 for a single room or £112 for double/twin (per room, per night, Bed and Breakfast). If you can get these cheaper via bookings.com or other sites then that’s fine, but if it is more expensive please do phone the hotel/reservations team to get this rate. The code to assist them finding the allocation of rooms is hwseve24092a however they can also find it under Fantasycon. If you prefer a different Hotel, there are a variety very nearby.

If you want to sell/promote a product or company then you can see a number of options on our dealers page. These include Dealers Membership, so please don’t buy regular membership as this might be a better option for you. There are also sponsorship options if you would really like to be noticed.
We have a core team of volunteers who help us run the event. Unlike science fiction conventions this team volunteer for the whole weekend to help us run the variety of activities. If you are interested in joining this team, please fill out the form here.
The policies on this website https://www.fantasycon.org/policies/ form part of your terms and conditions for attending the event.
Booking for the event is considered agreement to abide by these so we recommend you read them all.
Venue Accessibility Information:
The front entrance of the Hotel has a ramp to the front door.
The hotel reception itself is up some stairs in the lobby, but the Fantasycon reception is in the same room but in the flat section. If you need to check into the hotel one of the redcloak volunteers can get a member of staff to come to you if you are unable to get to them.
We are using the hotel Function Rooms which are all on the same floor, accessed via a large lift.
We are planning to have a “Quiet Room” where you can take a break if you feel overwhelmed or just need to sit for a while. Quiet conversation is allowed, but we ask you to be considerate to others. This will be close to the other function rooms, so there is likely to be some noise from other rooms.
The bar, restaurant and coffee shop are all on the ground floor with a flat (no steps) entrance.
All of the bedrooms are accessible from the lift (no steps) and the hotel says they have accessible rooms, but these do not have walk in showers. please do check if the rooms meet your specific requirements. Other hotels nearby might have facilities that suit your needs if this one does not.
The car park is a few minutes walk away on paved streets.
The restaurant serves food that is Gluten free, Vegetarian and Vegan as standard, but say they can cater to other allergies and dietary requirements on request. We always recommend letting the server know if you have an allergy, even if the item is listed as not containing that allergen.
There are a variety of shops and restaurants nearby if you prefer to eat elsewhere.
Please do get in touch with us firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or directly with the hotel if it is about their facilities.
